WHAT IS INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful approach to understanding the mind developed by Dr Richard Schwartz.

It recognises that we all have different “parts” inside us — such as inner critics, anxious protectors, perfectionists or people-pleasing parts.

These parts are not problems to eliminate. They are protective strategies that once helped us.

IFS helps you relate to these parts with curiosity and compassion, allowing your deeper core — what the model calls Self — to lead your life with greater calm, clarity and confidence.
